Názov: Finite Geometries Relevant for Quantum Information

Termín: 22.2.2018, 9:50 hod., M/213

Abstrakt:
The past decade has witnessed an increasing role of finite geometry in quantum information theory. In this talk we shall focus on projective ring lines, polar spaces and (extended) generalized polygons. First, we shall show how projective lines over modular rings are related to single-qudit Pauli groups. Then, it will be demonstrated how symplectic and orthogonal polar spaces describe properties of multi-qubit Pauli groups. Finally, it will be outlined how certain black-hole entropy formulas are encoded in the structure of generalized quadrangles with lines of size three and their extensions.
