Názov: Education system and computer science teacher education in Slovenia

Abstrakt:
In the first part of the seminar I will give a rough introduction to the University of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Education, the research group I belong to and my pedagogical and research focus. I will present the structure of the training of teachers of computer science CS (informatics), universities which educate CS teachers and the challenges we face in our society by introducing CS into the primary and secondary school curriculum. In the second part I will give a more comprehensive picture of the entire Slovenian education system. First of all, I will introduce the peculiarities of my country, continue with the organisation of education and go through particular parts of the education system: pre-school, basic (primary + lower secondary), upper secondary and tertiary education. I will conclude with the trends in education and explain the basic feature of special education.
