Description of the Study Program
The graduate of the Bachelor's degree program in Management Mathematics (MMN) has extensive knowledge of mathematical disciplines: mathematical analysis, linear algebra, differential equations, numerical methods and probability and statistics, which he acquires from quality teachers mostly FMFI UK staff. Programming courses and work with mathematical and statistical software are also an organic part of the study. The second pillar of our graduate's education is modern education in the field of management, marketing and finance provided by the cooperating Faculty of Management, UK in Bratislava as well as FMFI UK staff, especially in the field of mathematical methods in finance and management. During their studies, the graduate can choose from a wide range of profiling subjects from compulsory elective and elective subjects, which allow him to acquire specific knowledge in the following areas: application of mathematical statistics in the real world, programming skills focused on statistical methods in insurance and banking, knowledge of modern marketing and widespread horizons in the world of finance and banking. There are also opportunities to get a comprehensive overview of accounting in modern companies. After graduation, the student is ready to continue in the master's study of the follow-up study of managerial mathematics, mathematics, management or economics. Some students will use the opportunities of the labor market at home or abroad directly after completing their bachelor's studies, most often in specialist positions in insurance, managerial analytics, risk processing and similar positions associated with mathematical and statistical work in company management.
What to Expect
The study plan consists of compulsory, compulsory optional and optional subjects. Compulsory subjects also include all-faculty subjects English language advanced level (1st semester) and a two-semester course in physical education and sports. In addition to them, the compulsory subjects consist of the basic subjects of management studies and mathematics (and statistics). This set of subjects is conditioned by our idea of the graduate profile. The arrangement of compulsory subjects respects the logical connections between them, both in the mathematical and in the management part of the study. As part of the course, the student can also take an internship as an assessed subject.
Final Thesis
With the bachelor's thesis, the student must demonstrate the ability to independently acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, use and present it in written form. The final thesis is prepared by the student under the guidance of the thesis supervisor. The thesis supervisor prepares a written assessment of the final thesis and proposes its evaluation. The final thesis is assessed by one an opponent who prepares a written assessment of the final thesis and proposes its evaluation. The offer of bachelor's theses is updated annually in the study information system. We also encourage students to take the initiative to approach teachers and experts from practice with an interest in a bachelor's thesis in a specific issue.
Examples of successful final theses of our students (only in SK language):

Graduates' Career Opportunities
The Management Mathematics study program is not linked to any regulated profession, most graduates continue their master's studies. However, graduates can easily get a job most often in the field of company management and positions such as financial, marketing, managerial analytical positions, requiring the ability to actively use statistics and data processing methods and complex thinking with experience in analytics and mathematical methods. The good employability of our graduates is also evidenced by the fact that those who continue their master's studies with us after their bachelor's studies usually have a part-time job during their studies in the related field of management mathematics.
