Department of Algebra and Geometry
The department participates on the educational activities of the faculty in some professional bachelor's or master's study programs, e.g. Mathematics, Management mathematics, Physics, Informatics, Computer graphics and geometry. We contribute to the teaching of professional mathematical subjects within the Teacher training study program (especially in combinations with mathematics or descriptive geometry).
The department is a training center for two doctoral study programs in Mathematics, Geometry and Topology.
Some members of the department are involved in the education and training of talented students. The department's scientific research focuses on algebra, mathematical logic, graph theory, number theory, theory of real functions, union theory, algebraic, differential and general topology, algebraic and differential geometry, geometric modeling, applied geometry, computer graphics, virtual reality and descriptive geometry.
