Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials
The main activities of the Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials are focused on the basic and applied research and development in various fields of science and technology with an emphasis on the utilization of nanotechnology and new progressive materials with improved physical properties. At the same time, the centre forms the environment for targeted applied research and the transfer of acquired knowledge into commercial practice.
The specific research and development areas include, but are not limited to, hard and temperature-resistant films and coatings, nanostructured semiconductor gas sensors with memristive memory, superconducting thin films and superconducting micro/nano structures.
In cooperation with respective departments, the centre's staff participate in the Bachelor's degree study programs Physics, Technical Physics, Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental Physics and Applied Informatics, in the Master's degree study programs Solid State Physics and Environmental Physics, Renewable Energy Sources, Meteorology and Climatology, and in the doctoral studies program Physics of Condensed Matter and Acoustics.
