Connections

MatFyz CONNECTIONS 2026 once again opens the doors of FMPI UK to the academic community and wide public. On Wednesday, November 25, 2026, Lecture Hall F1 and the Physics Pavilion lobby will become a venue where faculty members, researchers, students, alumni, and professionals from practice come together.
The event offers an opportunity to share scientific results, be inspired by the work of colleagues, and establish new connections across disciplines. In addition to presentations by faculty members and doctoral students, the conference will also feature invited lectures and joint discussions on topics that go beyond the boundaries of individual departments.
An invited lecture about Electrons in Flatland: The Physics of Two-Dimensional Materials will be delivered by prof. Dr. Jaroslav Fabian from University of Regensburg and the second lecture on Humanoids Sharing Our World: How Should a Robot Learn? by prof. Ing. Igor Farkaš, Dr. from the Department of Applied Informatics, FMFI UK.
