Engineering Graphene Spintronics via Proximity Effects in van der Waals (vdW) Heterostructures

Abstract:
Van der Waals heterostructures provide a modular platform for next-generation spin nanoelectronics. In this seminar, we discuss the engineering of graphene’s electronic properties through proximity-induced SOC and exchange interactions. We present detailed investigations into graphene/1T-TaS2 and graphene/In2Se3 systems, highlighting how correlated electron states and ferroelectric coupling enable control over spin texture chirality and self-induced spin-orbit torques.
