A postdoctoral position in the Laboratory of Electron Induced Fluorescence (https://dep.fmph.uniba.sk/eif) at the Comenius University in Bratislava is open starting in October 2025.
The scientific aim of the research is the new reference spectroscopic data for astrophysical applications valuable for astronomical optical emission spectroscopy and also for plasma modeling and electron-induced elementary processes.
The objective is to investigate electron–molecule collisions using optical emission spectroscopy, with a focus on spectral analysis and the determination of cross-sections for specific reactions. The postdoc will be actively involved mainly in data analysis and preparation of manuscripts for publication. Collaboration with international partners will be an integral part of the postdoc’s role in the project. A list of publications relevant to the research can be found at https:/dep.fmph.uniba.sk/eif
We are offering a postdoctoral position starting from October 1st, 2025. The contract length is 1 year with the possibility of extension up to 3 years.
Expectations from the candidate:
- very good level of English language,
- basic laboratory skills,
- good experience with scientific writing,
- up to 3 years from the PhD defense,
- ability to efficiently cooperate with other research team members.
