Symmetry type graphs of abstract polytopes


Abstract:
We will talk about symmetry type graphs of abstract polytopes, that is, quotients of their flag graphs by their full automorphism groups. These are edge-colored graphs that must satisfy some immediate necessary conditions. The symmetry type graph conjecture says that these conditions are also sufficient (whenever an edge-colored graph satisfies these conditions, it is the symmetry type graph of some abstract polytope). We will discuss some results for this conjecture in low ranks.
