RNDr. Martin Bulko, PhD.:
Radon flux modelling in Slovakia

Abstrakt:
Regional radon flux models are widely used in studies of atmospheric transport and radon risk assessment, but their accuracy is often limited by the quality of the input data. The seminar will present a radon flux model and its application to Slovakia. A dense network of locally measured geological and soil properties has enabled the creation of high-resolution radon exhalation rate maps. Particular attention was devoted to obtaining a representative soil moisture data by integrating the ERA5-Land database with soil moisture measurements from 37 stations operated by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute. Model performance was evaluated using independent measurements from ten sites in Slovakia and compared with the European traceRadon database.
