Vortices and Lumps in extended Abelian-Higgs models
Abstract:
We present a family of extended Abelian-Higgs models where either (gauged) lumps or vortices exist in different corners of the parameter space. In these models, it is possible to continuously go from vortex-type scenario with spontaneous symmetry breakdown to a lump-type scenario, where solitons are textures. It is exactly on the border between the different phases where we found a novel integrable case in which every solution is known in a closed form. We interpret these solutions as condensation of vortices that saturates the Bradlow limit.
