Top-quark mass – on its role, problems and results


Abstract: 
The presentation is about the top-quark mass which is one of the parameters of the Standard Model (SM) and in the talk the role of the top-quark mass in the SM consistency tests and in cosmology, in particular its role in the vacuum stability issue, will be discussed. The relationship between the measured mass of the top quark and its so-called pole mass will be also discussed. In addition, the latest results on top-quark mass measurements will be presented.
