Courant algebroids and supergravity (of type II)

Abstract:
In this talk we will introduce Courant algebroids and show how we can use them to study the low energy effective actions of superstring theories (which are 10D supergravities). In particular, this framework allows us to use algebraic methods to find solutions of the equations of motion to these theories.
