Mgr. Jozef Mišt:
Investigation of 182Pt structure via β decay of 182Au

Neutron-deficient exotic isotopes in the lead region manifest various interesting phenomena of nuclear structure and radioactive decay, such as shape coexistence, isomeric states and β-delayed fission. A great tool to study these isotopes is the spectroscopy of γ rays following their β decay which allows us to identify and study levels in the daughter nucleus up to relatively high excitation energy. One of the isotopes in this region is 182Au together with its daughter nucleus after beta decay, 182Pt. These isotopes were studied at the ISOLDE facility at CERN during the IS665 experiment. During the seminar, the preliminary results of the analysis of data from this experiment will be presented. The level scheme of 182Pt was built on the basis of prompt γ-γ coincidences, which was extended up to the excitation energy of 3.7 MeV with many new transitions and levels. Additionally, log ft values of this beta decay were evaluated for the first time, which allows us to get information about spins and parities of populated states.
