Can Quantum Monte Carlo be the future of quantum computing?
Abtract:
The world of high-power computing (HPC) is changing drastically. In the past 30 years, we have seen the transition from single-core CPUs to modern multicore heterogenious architectures accelerated with specialized hardware for vector operations. And it keeps changing. These changes, however, affect how effectively can HPC codes based on different quantum theories scale up and utilize the available hardware resources. In this talk we will try to compare them, we will discuss modern trends in HPC, but mostly we will try to answer the question from the title, can Quantum Monte Carlo be the future standard for quantum computing?
