FMPI students running summer schools
More than 300 high-schoolers from all over the country attended summer schools of mathematics, physics and programming
FMPI students of the NGO Trojsten organized three summer schools for 300 high-schoolers from all over the country during second half of July and first half of August. At the Summer School of Programming, Summer School of Mathematics and the Summer School of Physics the participants were provided with the opportunity to develop their algorithmic reasoning and to learn new topics from college mathematics and physics.
Apart from 150 lectures given by 50 volunteer undergraduates there was a variety of workshops teaching and showing e.g. how to correctly formulate thoughts when solving correspondence contests, how to statistically evaluate experiments and how to avoid pitfalls, how to completely automate experiment analysis in R, how to make numeric models of simple physical processes, and many other useful skills. There was also a wide choice of pastimes like puzzle solving, climbing, geocaching, swimming, sightseeing, dancing, and also barbecue or games. Participation in the event is free of charge and the investment of time and attention will doubtlessly enhance future professional achievement of all the participants.
