Degree of geometrical frustration in Ising antiferromagnets: How to quantify?
Abstract:
In a spin system on a lattice, geometrical frustration refers to the inability of the spins to satisfy the lowest energy state for each bond. However, it is not clear how to compare the degree of frustration between two different types of lattices with different types of spin-interactions. In this talk I will argue that the perpendicular susceptibility provides an exact measure of the degree of frustration. The argument is based on our exact calculations of susceptibilities for Ising antiferromagnets on two-dimensional kagomé lattice for two different interactions and their comparison with known exact results for Ising antiferromagnets on a triangular lattice.
