ENVIRA 2023
Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics is co-organizing again important international conference ENVIRA
The Seventh International Conference on Environmental Radioactivity, ENVIRA 2023, will take place on 17-22 September 2023 in Seville (Spain). The conference is organized by the University of Seville (the chairman of the Local Organizing Committee is Prof. Manuel García-León) in cooperation with the Comenius University (Pavel Povinec is the chairman of the International Organizing Committee). The conference also includes a workshop of the European Monitoring Network of Radionuclides in the Atmosphere (RoF).
The conference will feature contributions aimed at new challenges in the environmental radioactivity research, recent developments in radioanalytical technologies, climate change research, radionuclides as tracers of environmental processes, atmospheric radioactivity, terrestrial radioactivity, naturally occurring radioactive materials, impact of nuclear facilities on the environment, radioecological research, modeling of environmental processes, reference materials for environmental radioactivity studies, applications of environmental radionuclides, etc. A special session will be dedicated to the memory of Prof. Michio Aoyama, an important Japanese expert in the field of marine radioactivity, who left us suddenly. This session will mainly deal with research on marine radioactivity and on the impact of the Fukushima accident on the environment, also related to the current problems associated with discharges of radioactive waters into the Pacific Ocean. Nine prominent Japanese specialists and experts from abroad will give invited lectures.
Around 300 scientists from all continents will participate in the conference, who will deliver 28 invited lectures on interesting topics, 120 lectures in parallel sessions, and 90 posters. On behalf of our faculty, R. Breier, M. Ješkovský, J. Kaizer, I. Kontuľ and P. Povinec will present the results of their work.
