Postdoctoral Fellow on Theoretical Nuclear and Neutrino Physics
The Department of Nuclear Physics and Biophysics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava, is seeking candidates for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in the neutrino physics and nuclear structure group. Application Deadline: 20.6.2025
The selected candidate will take a leading role in the theoretical study of nuclear processes involving neutrinos. The focus will be on understanding the fundamental properties and interactions of neutrinos, as well as exploring phenomena related to physics beyond the Standard Model. The candidate will work on enhancing the theoretical description of allowed and forbidden beta decays, particularly in the context of reactor antineutrino fluxes, two-neutrino and neutrinoless double-beta decays, and other related nuclear processes, such as muon capture and double-charge exchange reactions. Attention will be given to the particle, nuclear, and atomic aspects of these processes.
Interested candidates must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, and two letters of recommendation to Fedor Šimkovic. The deadline for applications is June 20, 2025, and the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
The gross salary is 18,250 per year, including social security contributions and taxes.
