On stripe phase in matrix models and renormalizability of noncommutative theories

Abstract: 
In this talk we will discuss the relationship between renormalizability and extent of the striped phase in phase diagrams of noncommutative theories. As an example, we will consider the matrix version of the Grosse-Wulkenhaar model on the truncated Heisenberg space. We will present some recent results on the structure of its phase diagram and see how these results might help to formulate a renormalizable gauge model on noncommutative space.
