30 nuclear physics discoveries on the FRS at GSI Darmstadt with a substantial contribution of the FMFI UK Bratislava group

Abstract:
On the Fragment separator FRS at GSI Darmstadt the FMFI UK Bratislava group since 1995 developed and gradually exchanged German detectors MWPC by the TPC detectors. TPC detectors ensured considerably higher precision and other characteristics, which improved the quality of the FRS spectrometer. The FMFI UK group provided a complex tracking of nuclei at the FRS. New tracking detectors enabled international teams in 1995-2020 years to discover tens of new exotic nuclei with neutron or proton halos. Experimental discoveries brought creating of new theoretical models including corrections of nuclear magic numbers near neutron and proton drip lines. The discoveries allowed better understanding of quantum features of the nuclear force and physical processes connected with nuclear gluon bonds. FMFI UK group is since 2010 a member of NUSTAR and Super FRS collaborations in the European laboratory FAIR at Darmstadt. The group developed for Super FRS a new, more powerful detector - Twin TPC.
