Royal Society of Chemistry (United Kingdom) elected Prof. Povinec for its Member
Prof. RNDr. Pavel Povinec, DrSc. from the Department of Nuclear Physics and Biophysics of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University has been elected in London a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (United Kingdom) for his contributions to the development of nuclear sciences (development of radioanalytical methods, measurement of very low radioactivity, underground laboratories) and their applications in environmental and space sciences (environmental radioactivity, impacts of nuclear power plants and their accidents on the environment, climate changes in isotope archives, isotope oceanology, radioactivity of lunar samples and meteorites). The Royal Society of Chemistry is one of the most recognized scientific societies in the world, and its membership is highly valued.
