Odd-Au isotopes: triaxial nuclei and shape coexistence
Triaxial atomic nuclei are deformed with broken axial symmetry. In the talk, a method of identification of such nuclei will be intruduced. Odd-mass Au isotopes form one of the best understood isotopic chains. On the basis of the systematics of their excited states, it is possible to demonstrate their triaxiality, together with the shape coexistence phenomenon.
Recent results of the group from Department of Nuclear Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, measured with the TATRA spectrometer at CERN-ISOLDE facility, at the cyclotron laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), and at iThemba Labs (Cape Town, South Africa), will be presented.
