doc. RNDr. Miroslav Ješkovský, PhD.:
AMS development in CENTA laboratory

Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is currently the most sensitive method for measuring long-lived isotopes. It has a wide application in many scientific fields, from archaeology, through art, history, environmental and geological sciences, biomedical research to nuclear physics and astrophysics. Last summer, the accelerator system in the CENTA laboratory was upgraded with key components that now enable full-scale analysis of microgram samples. During the seminar, the current equipment of the laboratory and its possibilities will be introduced. Preliminary results of measurements that characterize the entire system will be presented, focusing on the reproducibility and accuracy of the achieved results.
