Abstrakt: 
The plan of my talk is as follows:

1. Almost homomorphisms and approximations of groups.
2. Metric approximations of discrete groups. Topological approximations. Equivalent denitions.
3. Soc groups. Hyperlinear groups. Weakly soc groups. Linear soc groups.
4. Equations over groups. Kervaire-Laudenbach conjecture.
5. SQ-universality, congruence extension property, and socity. The nonstandard extension of a free group.
6. If time permits I will touch the approximations of topological groups.
